Nature Idea- Pet Ants

Gather up some ants in a ziplock bag. Include eggs, larvae and the queen. She will be the largest ant and well protected. If you don't find the queen the ants will eventually die. Place ants in a refrigerator for one hour to slow them down. Transfer them with the dirt to a narrow glass cage or place a glass upside down inside of a larger jar to force the ants to tunnel near the outer edges so that you can see them. Add a nylon hose or fine mesh to the top with a rubber band. Feed them tiny bits of ripe fruit, meat, jam or honey (sometimes) on the surface. Water in small quantities.
