In the silver light after a storm,
Under dripping boughs of bright new green,
I take the low path to hear the meadowlarks
Alone and high-hearted as if I were a queen.
Under dripping boughs of bright new green,
I take the low path to hear the meadowlarks
Alone and high-hearted as if I were a queen.
What have I to fear in life or death
Who have known three things: the kiss in the night,
The white flying joy when a song is born,
And meadowlarks whistling in silver light.
Meadowlarks,

This is beautiful, thank you for sharing!
Where are you in Texas? We live in the Austin area and have never seen a Meadowlark yet!
Donna in Tx
We don't have any meadowlarks around here, but I've always thought they are lovely.
Donna,
NE texas. We didn't see them all summer, but they suddenly showed up this winter and stayed for about a month. 20 or so at a time. Haven't seen any in the past week.
